"Oken" means enter in Mayan. It is the word of hospitality that a visitor is greeted with when arriving at a friend's home. So, in this spirit of hospitality, enter. This is a website about my general interests in art, anthropology, visual culture, and entomology. It is a place where I will post some of my views and ideas outside the formal context of the classroom or normal publications. I see this site as a place for extended conversations, even if only with myself, but I hope others join in as well.
